The call of home
God leads us in directions we don't expect sometimes. If we follow the path our Lord puts in front of us it will always work out. I say this because I never expected to leave my hometown. Five and one half years ago I left my hometown. I left by the leadership of my Lord Jesus. I do not regret my decision, although I do miss my people. I guess no matter how much time goes by I'll always miss the old days. I don't know if God will ever lead me back there again. We just have to accept what our Lord commands. As a pastor I never know where God will lead me... I just know He will not lead me astray. Maybe I'll stay at this church from now on, maybe I'll leave tomorrow. Whatever God says I must do I'll do. This is a small sacrifice compared to what my Lord did for me. No matter where I end up I guess I'll always hear the call of home where I grew up. One day I'll hear the call of my eternal home with the Lord.

I remember you
Daniel Brian Parker was born October 30th 1970. My brother was killed on June 1st 2006 while at work. Brian would have been 38 today. Loosing my brother is by far the hardest thing I have ever been through. As I sit here my greatest wish is that I had spent more time with him. I want to tell everyone that if you have family, spend as much time talking to them about the Lord as you can. When they are gone your time with them is up. I don't know where Brian stood with the Lord when he met death on this earth. This one thing I do know... God never makes a mistake. I can only hope that Brian was in a right standing with God. So, if you are not sure about someone you know, find out so you are not left to wonder. I love you brother.

A poem by Jasper L. Parker
The Frog on the Log
It was a very rainy day
And I saw a frog that sat on a log
He stared at me in a very strange way
Then I stared at the frog
Till he went croak
And then he jumped off the log
It was a very rainy day
And I saw a frog that sat on a log
He stared at me in a very strange way
Then I stared at the frog
Till he went croak
And then he jumped off the log

God is good
The longer I live the more I see God's goodness. What do I need that I don't have? I have so much more than I deserve. Thank God every day for the blessings you have. I could spend all day talking about this and still not come close to naming just a few blessings. I'll sum it up with this... God is good.
What are you doing
What are you doing for the cause of Christ. Sure, we think we are doing so much. The truth is we are doing next to nothing. We do just enough to get by(in our own mind). When are we going to wake up?
